What is AliExpress?

AliExpress is a massive global online retail marketplace based in China. It connects buyers from all over the world directly with small businesses and manufacturers.
Because you are often buying directly from the factory rather than going through a middleman, you can find electronics, clothing, home goods, and quirky gadgets at incredibly low prices. It is the ultimate platform for cheap prices and people looking to buy items in bulk.
A Brief History of AliExpress
The story of AliExpress actually kicks off back in 2010. It was built from the ground up by the Alibaba Group, that massive Chinese tech and retail empire founded by Jack Ma. At the time, Alibaba was already a total powerhouse when it came to business to business sales. Alibaba were mostly focused on moving huge volumes of inventory between companies.
Jack Ma and the bright minds hired to run Alibaba noticed something really interesting. Shoppers around the world were looking at these wholesale platforms and wishing they could get their hands on those exact same direct factory prices.
So, they created a new platform just for everyday international consumers. It gave small overseas manufacturers a direct line to ship individual items to buyers in places like the US, the UK, and Europe. Fast forward to today, and it has turned into a massive e-commerce giant that completely bypasses the traditional retail middleman.
Is AliExpress Legit and Safe to Use?
This is the primary concern of everyone new to the platform.
AliExpress itself is legit however you can get some sketchy vendors. Luckily AliExpress has a very detailed Buyer Protection plan.
The way it works is, funds are released to the seller only after you have acknowledged that the goods have been delivered to you and are as described. If you never received your item or it got damaged, or it is entirely different from the pictures, you can raise a dispute and get your money back in full.
Free Coupons via their Referral Program
Before making your first order, it is advisable to be aware of the AliExpress referral system.
AliExpress offers an "Invite a Friend" option that grants you and the person you refer, rewards such as a discount on your first order. In case a friend shares their unique referral link or code, you will be given a discount voucher to use on your very first order. This is a simple way of saving even more money on your shopping sprees.
Do You Need a Phone Number for AliExpress?
It is possible to set up a simple AliExpress account with just an email address. However, on top of that, AliExpress enforces a very rigorous anti fraud system.
In fact, in most cases, very soon after the creation of an account, the attempt to claim a new user coupon, or the first purchase attempt, the AliExpress anti fraud system will lock the account. This will make it compulsory for you to provide a phone number to confirm your identity before you can resume shopping.
Many users feel reluctant to give their personal phone number for fear of receiving marketing messages and/or general privacy concerns. Should AliExpress insist on SMS verification, you can use our temporary & long-term phone numbers which are real numbers from mobile carriers which makes them undetected.
Why Free Virtual Numbers Frequently Don't Work
Free services such as Google Voice or TextNow use VoIP (Voice over IP) numbers. Most platforms, including AliExpress, can detect these internet-based numbers and may block or flag accounts. SMSPool provides non-VoIP mobile numbers from real cellular carriers, which appear indistinguishable from a standard SIM card.
How to Sign Up for AliExpress
Here is a step-by-step guide to registering your account and passing verification securely using a temporary number:
Create an SMSPool account or log in to your SMSPool account
Head over to SMSPool.net to register or log in. The process is super fast, and you do not need an email to sign up.
Deposit funds on SMSPool
Once you have logged in, go to the Deposit page to add credit to your balance (the recommended deposit is at least $3 if paying by card). This is more than enough for the cost of the number and leaves you with a backup balance if you need it later.
Start the AliExpress Account Registration
Navigate to AliExpress.com on your web browser. Click the "Sign up" button on the top right of the AliExpress homepage. Enter your email address and create a password. If their security system flags your new account, you will be prompted to verify your identity and be taken to a "Verify your phone number" page.
Navigate to the SMSPool Order Page
Click here. This is where you will select the specific number you will need for the AliExpress SMS verification.

Input your phone number into AliExpress
Input the phone number you have ordered from SMSPool into AliExpress. You can manually type the phone number or use the copy method from the previous step.
